This is an update that's almost impossible to really appreciate if you haven't been a part of Neuros for a while. After years of teeth gnashing about the read only file system and and lack a package manager fully implemented, a new community member bmc has released software that solves these issues called OSDng. It doesn't really do it justice, but there's a slideshow/screenshots here to appreciate it, you really have to use it.
OSDng fixes lots of user issues as well, including making the UI more responsive, fixing YouTube playback and the list goes on. We'll write up something more comprehensive to explain this impressive release, but in the meantime I wanted to make sure that I posted a link to this very impressive update.
You can find it at osd.oddren.com including changelogs, instructions on how to update and more. Bless you, bmc!
There's discussion all over the mailing list, including this thread more information will be coming shortly, but this one is best to experience first hand. If you haven't been using your OSD lately, dust it off and update it, you won't regret it (even if you do, it's easy enough to just go back to the way it was).
